The Geological Engineering Program at Trisakti University conducted a benchmarking activity regarding the curriculum of the Geological Engineering Program on Thursday, May 11, 2022, through the online platform Zoom Meeting. The benchmarking was carried out to facilitate the evaluation and updating of the curriculum of the Geological Engineering Program in accordance with the evolving needs of stakeholders and advancements in science and technology. The benchmarking involved various similar programs in other Indonesian universities, including Padjajaran University, Gadjah Mada University, and the Association of Study Programs.

The event was officially opened by Mr. Dr. Suryo Prakoso, S.T., M.T., as the Vice Dean I of FTKE. It was also attended by the Curriculum Team and permanent faculty members of the Geological Engineering Program. The first benchmarking presentation was given by Dr. Ir. Emi Sukiyah, M.T., the Chairperson of the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Geological Engineering at Padjajaran University. This was followed by a presentation from Mr. Ir. Nugroho Imam Setiawan, S.T., M.T., D.Sc., IPM., the Chairperson of the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Geological Engineering at Gadjah Mada University. There was also a response regarding the curriculum from Dr. Ir. Bambang Setiawan, ST, M.Eng.Sc, representing the Association of Geological Engineering Study Programs in Indonesia (Asproditegi).

From this activity, it is expected that graduates of the Geological Engineering Program at Trisakti University will effectively contribute significantly to the overall growth and sustainability of the geology sector (energy, minerals, environment-development, and disaster mitigation). It is also expected that they will shape the future direction of the curriculum, ensuring that it remains up-to-date, comprehensive, and responsive to the ever-evolving needs of the geology industry.
